This is truly my first attempt at a beach on canvas. I hope to teach myself more techniques when it comes to these types of paintings, who knew sand could be a bit tricky to define. :) I created a time lapse video of this one as you can watch below.

"The Assateague Lighthouse"

This is a 16 x 20 inch acrylic on canvas painting of the Assateague Lighthouse located on the Virginia portion of Assateague Island. I really wanted to start painting local landmarks so I started it off with a lighthouse. :)

"A Northern Paradise"

This is a 18"x24" Acrylic on canvas painting titled: A Northern Paradise. I painted this scene for my wives grandfather. He said he actually got to see the northern lights once and asked me to try and duplicate a scene. I plan on shipping it out to him on Monday, all the way to Ohio. :)

I'm also in the process of making another speed painting video. I hope to have that posted very soon. :D

Haylee

This is a painting for my niece "Haylee." She will be celebrating her 5th birthday soon and i'm hoping this will match her new zebra print bedroom. :)

All settled in.

          I've finally settled in my new home. Now hopefully I can get back to painting and focusing on new techniques. I often imagine myself trying a more simple technique with sky lighting, but for some reason I never attempt it because my mind is already set on what i'm doing. I really need to let go this weekend and try something a bit new.

In this painting I really wanted to capture a feeling of fresh air. A clear view of distant mountains and a bright tree blowing in the wind.
